There’s blood on his lips, but he licks that away, and then, he licks the spot he’d just bitten. I’d expect to feel something like pain in the aftermath, but there’s only the lingering orgasmic haze.

“That is dangerous.”

“Some think it’s an evolutionary mechanism… if your food likes being eaten, it will keep coming back.”

He licks his lips once more and then pulls me to him, kissing me so sweetly, I almost don’t know what to do.

When the alarm on his phone goes off, I flinch. Blinking at the black brick on the charging plate.

“I don’t feel tired at all.” I say it as the alarm song plays to its end and restarts.

“A spectacular side effect.” I stretch against him. “Is it going to last all day?”

“Maybe….” he licks my neck from shoulder to ear. “If you start to fade we can always sneak away for a few moments.”

Laughing against his lips as he kisses me, I wrap my arms around his neck. “I might pretend, just for the hell of it.”

The tone changes, a second alarm tumbling after the second and I groan. “I need to get showered and dressed.”

“I’ll see about getting you your coffee.”

“You’re too good.”
